Design a Float

Get creative and help us to design a new float for this year’s Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant.

About the competition

Get creative, use your imagination and start drawing… because we need your help to design a new float for this year’s Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant!

The competition is open to primary students and winners have the opportunity to take part in the Pageant!

2019 CHALLENGE: Bush Christmas

Grab your drawing gear and have some fun creating everything we need to design our Bush Christmas float – like numbats, echidnas, kookaburras, emus and grass trees… all with a festive twist!

Let your imagination go wild – what else would you find celebrating Christmas in the Australian bush? Festive frogs? Reindeer roos? Carolling cockatoos?

Of course, we’ll need some traditional Christmas elements like tinsel, candy canes, stockings, wreaths and Christmas trees – but styled as though they were from the Australian bush! (Christmas ‘gum’ trees?  Wildflower wreaths?)

You can either draw the elements separately, or combine your ideas to create a bigger picture.

We’ll choose our favourite bits and pieces from everyone’s designs and put them together to build our new float for The West Australian, Channel 7, Media Education and ED! Magazine.

Win

Students could win $100 and an invitation to accompany our float in this year’s Pageant, as well as a cool shirt to wear!
