Brad Kruger - Media Education portrait - enhanced

Brad Kruger

Brad taught at metropolitan and remote primary schools in WA before diversifying into creating educational programs at some of the State’s biggest children’s education attractions.

With a keen interest in WA biodiversity and creative approaches to student learning, Brad was senior manager for education and public programs across all WA Museum metropolitan sites and was an Education Officer at Perth Zoo before joining Media Education as manager. Brad also previously worked in the United States for Disney.

Brad says his teaching career highlights are “too many to mention – but orienteering and solving puzzles and challenges along bush tracks through the mud and rain in Pemberton while on camp with my Year 6 and 7 students seemed like the perfect teaching moment’’.
He is passionate about engaging students with the world around them by connecting and exploring both print and digital media.
“This goes beyond the black and white of facts and opinions. We want students to look for the nuances like bias, speculation and generalisations and to question everything, verify sources and challenge each other. We need a better world with informed and engaged people,’’ he says.
